About
On April 1st, 2009 I gave notice at Ogilvy Public Relations. On May 1st the world became my oyster (At least for the summer). For many people, finding a job can be a difficult task. To help, I thought I would note some of my social media thoughts and activities in this blog. While social media, and how it is used, is changing almost daily, it can be a valid and key tool for those who are not currently using it.
Maybe you have been working the same job for many years and just focused on the job at hand instead of making new friends and attending events, conferences or parties. Maybe you are a little older and have no clue what all of this technology overload is. But now, unemployed, you are wondering how to find potential work or full time employment using social networks and related applications and services.
The Social Media Job Experiment will act as a tool for you to learn and hopefully benefit from my experiences. I may not have a job for you but I can show you how to raise your public profile and do it in a way that lets people know that you are ready to work. Additionally, I will give you some insight as to what social media is and the tools you have to extend yourself online.
Hold on tight and get ready to learn the ropes! Feel free to reach out and ask questions any time.
